The objectives of the conferences are to share the latest research progress of microbiology and microbial biotechnology and address the important issues concerning innovation, leading to implementation in industry.

Call for Papers

Prospective authors are invited to submit abstracts of scientific papers. the abstract must not exceed 250 words, contains a brief summary of the text and must be written in Times New Roman with 12 font size.
Full guideline to write manuscript is available online following the guldelines Microbiology Indonesia
Selected manuscripts will be presented at oral or poster sessions and published in the official journal of Indonesian Society for Microbiology or an ISBN coded proceeding.

Sebagai salah satu Jurnal Binaan Dikti, Jurnal Natur Indonesia selalu berusaha menyajikan artikel artikel ilmiah bermutu hasil riset/penelitian para pakar dan peneliti di bidang biosains dan ilmu dasar. Saat ini.Jurnal Natur Indonesia mengadakan sayembara penulisan artikel ilmiah untuk menjaring artikel bermutu serta mendorong dan meningkatkan para pakar/peneliti dalam mempublikasikan hasil riset terbarunya dijurnal-jurnal ilmiah.

FAO telah menetapkan tema peringatan HPS ke-33 Tahun 2013 adalah "Sustainable Food Systems for Food Security and Nutrition" yang artinya "Sistem Pangan Berkelanjutan untuk Ketahanan Pangan dan Gizi". Penetapan tema internasional oleh FAO tersebut dimaksudkan untuk memberikan arahan terhadap peringatan HPS dan membantu meningkatkan pemahaman tentang masalah dan solusi dalam memerangi kelaparan.

TEMA NASIONAL
Selaras dengan tema internasional HPS tersebut telah ditetapkan tema nasional HPS ke-33 Tahun 2013, yakni "Optimalisasi Sumber Daya Lokal Menuju Kemandirian Pangan". Tema tersebut dipilih dengan pertimbangan sebagai berikut:

Seminar MAKSI (Masyarakat Perkelapa-sawitan Indonesia) 2013

LATAR BELAKANG
Kelapa sawit merupakan salah satu komoditas unggulan Indonesia, yang tidak hanya menjadi K sokoguru dalam pengembangan ekonomi Indonesia, akan tetapi kelapa sawit juga terbukti secara nyata semakin diperlukan oleh masyarakat global maupun peradaban. Kontribusi kelapa sawit sebagai komoditas peradaban dunia dapat dibuktikan dengan banyaknya kebutuhan hidup, baik pangan maupun non pangan, yang tidak terlepas dari penggunaan kelapa sawit seperti halnya minyak goreng, margarin, shortening,
kosmetika dan farmasi, bahan bangunan, sabun hingga penyediaan energi serta beragam produk oleokimia yang diperlukan dalam kehidupan masyarakat global.

Dengan total produksi CPO sekitar 26,5 juta ton pada tahun 2012 dan sebagai produsen kelapa sawit terbesar dunia, hingga kini industri kelapa sawit baik di Indonesia maupun di Malaysia senantiasa
mendapat tantangan serius berupa kampanye negatif dengan cakupannya yang sangat luas, serta dari para pihak yang memiliki stigma negatif terhadap Indonesia (TAMSI, 2012). Industri minyak kelapa sawit dituduh oleh para LSM Internasional sebagai sumber permasalahan bagi lingkungan hidup, seperti deforestasi, degradasi hutan, merusak habitat dan membunuh satwa liar yang dilindungi, serta meningkatnya emisi Gas Rumah Kaca (GRK) yang menyebabkan perubahan iklim. Sistem produksi minyak sawit Indonesia dinilai tidak akan mampu memenuhi Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) di Amerika Serikat; yakni penurunan emisi karbon yang direpresentasikan pada biodiesel sebesar 17% dan renewable diesel sebesar 11% di tahun 2022 yang akan datang (US-EPA NODA, 2012). Oleh karena itu dalam pertemuan WTO di Vladivostok
November 2012 dan Surabaya (20-21 April 2013), produk kelapa sawit masih belum dapat diusulkan ke dalam kelompok produk yang ramah lingkungan.

Selain itu, salah satu kegiatan yang seharusnya dapat mengurangi emisi karbon di industri kelapa sawit, yakni penggunaan teknologi methane capture (pemanfaatan dan penggunaan gas methan/GRK) di industri kelapa sawit ternyata masih sangat rendah. Limbah kelapa sawit belum banyak dimanfaatkan untuk produksi energi, karena yang telah memiliki fasilitas “methane capture” baru sekitar 1% dari total pabrik kelapa sawit yang beroperasi. Di lain pihak, Uni Eropa (EU) mentargetkan penggunanaan biodiesel dari campuran minyak nabati untuk mengurangi efek dari gas rumah kaca (GRK). EU akan menggunakan energi terbarukan sebesar 10 %,  dimana minyak kelapa sawit dapat menjadi salah satu bahan baku untuk energi terbarukan tersebut. Sayangnya, EU mensyaratkan bahwa penggunaan energi terbarukan tersebut harus memenuhi
ketentuan untuk dapat mereduksi emisi GRK minimal sebesar 35%, sedangkan minyak kelapa sawit diklaim tidak akan mampu memenuhi kriteria tersebut.

THE 4th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION OF PALM OIL 2013 (ICE PO IV)


Introduction

The International Conference & Exhibition on Palm Oil 2013 will be held in Jakarta Convention Center, Indonesia from 7- 9 may 2013, in the capital city of Indonesia. The event is presented to you, to continue the success of ICEPO 2009, 2011 & 2012.
The rapid growth of the palm oil industry in recent years has brought new opportunities and challenges into the world economy. These bring the need for a flat form to discuss strategies and to achieve more sustainable future business for the industry. if the business development of plantation and agro-industry of palm oil was developed, it will provide the greater results and benefit. so, the development can be integrated not only in the plantation and palm oil mills business but also the other business that is oriented to the derivatives industry of palm oil.
ICE-PO 2013 is aim to create a sustainable platform for the industry players to exchange information, ideas, and experience among producer and consumer on palm oil product, also provides a unique opportunity to review the advances in palm oil development, analyze and overcome challenges that the industry face today.
ICE-PO is arranged to be a ‘one stop event’ for the palm oil stakeholders from discussing issues to promote the industry and develop networking. It consist of 4 programs, as follows:

The event the event itself is expected to be attended by 1000 conference participants and 5000 visitor. The participant includes the following :

The Event

Conference
The whole program will be expectedly officiated by the Coordinating minister for Economy, Republic of Indonesia; due to the importance of palm oil commodity to the people of Indonesia. The first day of conference will be focused on discussion of the important role of palm oil to prosper people yet sustaining the environment, both in theoretical and practical terms. Furthermore, it will be discussed the clustering concepts and practices to optimize the palm industry and strengthen its competitiveness along with other vegetable oil commodities.
Conference will be separated into 3 (three) groups in the second day to allow the participants enriched with the advances in development of various aspects in palm oil industry, in line with supporting the sustainability of palm oil industry. In plantation aspects, progress in breeding, best management practices, integrated pest management system, new approaches for fertilization should be relevant topics nowadays. In palm oil mill system, best practices to enhance extraction rate and quality, biomass utilization for higher financial benefits, energy conservation, new engineering techniques in concerning with environments will be beneficial information for the participants. In economics and environment aspects, new concept in marketing and management system, the progress of research in environmental aspect, supply-demand-price concerning with global vegetable market; all these topics will be delivered in this day.
Day 3 will be a special day because of the topic on palm oil sustainability. Draft of Indonesia Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) becomes a hot issue for the palm oil community. Pro and contra to these new concept of regulation.

International Conference on Quality in Research (QiR) 2013


Welcome to QiR 2013
Human being always tries to increase its quality of life from time to time. Under the globalization today, this results in very competitive atmosphere in all aspects. To fulfill their needs, however, human being must consider the impact of their efforts on the environment. Therefore, sustainable development should balance both the fulfillment of human life quality and its harmony with the nature. Innovation in eco-based multidisciplinary knowledge and skills becomes the important key, and this central issue should be encouraged for the motivation of current and future development.
Taking part actively in that role, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia proudly announces its 13thInternational Conference on Quality in Research (QiR) 2013, following the previous successful conference in Bali in 2011. The selected theme for this year conference is “Exploring Innovation for Enhancement of Human Life and Environment”. Under this theme the conference focuses on the innovative contributions in science, engineering and design as well as their market perspectives to the existing and future enhancement of human life and environment quality. It is our utmost pleasure to hold QiR 2013 in conjunction with the 2nd International Conference on Civic Space (ICCS 2013). In addition, we also introduce the International Symposium on Community Development 2013 as a forum to share experience on engaging community for a better life and environment.
The QiR 2013 will bring together national and international frontliner, thinkers, academics, executives, government and business officials, practitioners and leaders to present and discuss a vast range of engineering, architectural design and community services in urban eco-based technology. It is our hope and aim that this conference would be able to provide an international media for exchange of the knowledge, experience and research as well as the review of progress and discussion on the state of the art and future trend of prospective collaboration and networking in broad field of eco-based technology development. 
We warmly invite all researchers, academics, students, industry to join and share your latest results in QiR 2013. Special welcome is addressed to our regular participants to join us again in QiR 2013 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia on 25-28 June 2013.
